Queen of Hearts Saga #2
Dinah has been exiled from Wonderland. The vicious father she always feared has framed her for the brutal murder of her brother and turned the kingdom against her. Now hiding in the lush and mysterious Twisted Wood with only her war steed at her side, Dinah is faced with a choice. She could leave Wonderland forever or return and fight her father for her throne—a fight she knows would only result in bloodshed. When a chance encounter with one of her father’s long-lost enemies brings Dinah more allies than she ever could have imagined, war starts to feel inevitable. But before Dinah can lead her people into combat, she must confront certain truths about her heart and her destiny—no matter how dark those truths may be. Revolution is rising in Wonderland. Dinah’s battle has begun.
Weakness
The past of the book was a bit slow for me, making it hard to finish reading it. I was very disappointed that this wasn’t the last book since I didn’t want to go through this awful writing time frame. The beginning of the book was just going in a circle, the author wanted us to get a feel of Wonderland but rather she made me wish that Dinah would just fall in a hole and wouldn’t get out. WHAT IS THIS LOVE STORY, every time that this book mentions the hopes of Dinah and Wardly it just shatters all my hopes. I seriously got so annoyed that all hope was lost AGAIN.
Strength
Even though I did not enjoy the first book, I just had to know what happened to the poor princess. The plot twist was very daring and moving, making me push through the book but I wish it had knocked the air out of me (but it just left me wishing for more). I was almost halfway in the book when the storyline actually became interesting. Overall the main character did grow up and became less selfish or a brat. Spoiler only when they achieve the Yurkei City that the book got actually interesting and I couldn’t put the book down.
Conclusion
Overall, I give this book 3 stars since the story actually got interesting in the middle of the book. The slowness of the storyline was taking way too long to get in motion making it unbearable to get through. The love story, well it just sucks and shattered my heart.
